Upon returning to civilization, our brilliant doctor is ruthlessly pursued by The Abomination -- a nightmarish beast of pure adrenaline and aggression whose powers match The Hulk's own. A fight of comic-book proportions ensues as Banner must call upon the hero within to rescue New York City from total destruction. One scientist must make an agonizing final choice -- accept a peaceful life as Bruce Banner or the creature he could permanently become: THE INCREDIBLE HULK.

Synopsis
Synopsis (without giving away the twist): Something is happening. The end. Seriously though, something is happening that is making rational human beings lose their minds and kill themselves in very, violent ways. Two teachers (Mark Walberg and John Leguizamo),
a dippy woman (Zooey Deschanel), and a cute little girl (Ashley Sanchez) must escape and hide until whatever is happening, stops happening.

Okay, being elusive doesn’t make it seem all that exciting. Let’s just say the cause of the happening is not only freaky, but in my mind kind of plausible. M. Night again, has caused me to re-examine human nature and it’s impact on the environment. But, I’ve said too much already, so let’s stick to what you’ve already seen in the previews.

Preview Spoiler #1: ”It’s raining construction workers!” This scene (along with another which I will get to shortly) made the entire movie. The fear in that constrution worker’s eyes, the sight of those workers falling, and the sound (which you only get in the movie) is absolutely unnerving. I’m usually not a jumper or a speak-out-louder, but I jumped and said rather loudly, “Dear God!”

Preview Spoiler #2: “This hairpin looks so good in my neck.” Eh. It was freakier in the preview, but after seeing the preview eleventy billion times I was bored when she actually did it.

Preview Spoiler #3: Floating lawn workers. I’m getting chills just thinking about this again. Actually, they aren’t floating. The scene is shot from a moving jeep through the windshield. These guys have actually hung themselves with their own garden hoses and the jeep is driving underneath them. Wow. The most moving and haunting scene in the whole movie happens right after.

Preview Spoiler #4: “Oh, look! A lion!” Cheesy with a capital CH! Come on, M. Night! You’re better than slash and gore, horror flicks. Leave crap like this to the amateurs.

Preview Spoiler #5: ”It’s such a nice day that I think I’ll mow myself.” See above comment.

Preview Spoiler #6: ”Mommy, there’s a creepy woman looking in my window.” Eh. When I found out why she was looking in the window (here’s a clue: it “happened” to her), the scene fell flat.

Why wasn’t this one of M. Night’s best flicks? Plot holes and cheesy dialogue. My personal favorite: The Village. The plot is so well crafted that I believed right up until she jumped the hedge. And, If you think I’m stupid for not seing the ending coming, than you’re too smart to be reading this blog.

The Happening. Wanted to believe, but there were too many holes that kept me questioning the intergrity of the story. How did the people who survived, survive? Why did it just stop? How did it stop? Did it actually stop? Instead of answering these questions, the movie tries to divert attention away with superfluous dribble. I don’t care that Mark’s fiance has commitment issues that take the near extinction of the human race to fix. I don’t care that there is a family of hillbillies who will shoot anyone who tries to take shelter in their home. I don’t care why the creepy, hermit woman keeps a decaying doll on her bed. Stop trying to make me look over here, while you try to piece together the plot.

Where’s there’s drivel, bad dialogue is sure to follow. Even an actor with superb skills, would have to work overtime to deliver some of the cheesiness written here. We’re talking about Mark Walberg and John Leguizamo here. Don’t get me wrong. They’re good, but they ain’t no Deniro, or Hoffman, or even Hopkins. Downright clunky in places, the dialogue stops anyone from loosing themselves in the story.

Since we’re talking about actors, Zooey (how the hell do you say that?) delivers a good performance, adding a bit of comic relief in a tense situation. For what it’s worth, John did good job with the script that was handed to him. And Mark, well, he’s Marky Mark how can you not love him. Yeah, sometime his delivery falls flat, but a good director should be able to fix that. So, I guess the real person to blame for this movie’s shortcomings is M. Night himself. Writing and directing can take a lot out of a man. Maybe, he should just stick to one.

Evolusi KL Drift The Movie

Directed by :Syamsul Yusof
Starring : Fasha Sandha, Farid Kamil, Syamsul Yusof, Diana Danielle, Aaron Aziz, Ikram Dinzly
Distributed by : Skop Productions Sdn Bhd, Grand Brilliance Sdn Bhd

Evolusi KL Drift is a Malaysian action film influenced by The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. The film is scheduled to open in Malaysia on 3 April 2008. The movie tells the story of Zack and Sham, close friends who share a passion for drift
racing. Though the sport is popular with men, Zack’s girlfriend (played by Fasha Sandha) took up the sport and became competitive in it. Two other racers, Joe and Karl, feel threatened by their female counterpart and their inability to convince others to join the sport, leading to a showdown race between Zack and Joe.

Jeraul said : Watch this if you liked: "Impak Maksima" and "The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift".

As Syamsul's directorial debut, this movie is a very promising start to what could certainly be a very successful career in showbiz for him. The opening theme song, and in fact most of the music throughout the film, is slick and pumping in the style that today's teens (and the target audience) know and love, and very fitting to the whole feel of the movie. The cinematography is respectable and is perfect for such an action film, with suitable camera angles and techniques. Overall, the whole feel of the film is polished and pleasing, if not slightly vacuous as well.

Despite the fact that most of the cast members did a stellar job in portraying their characters, there wasn't much room for them to develop further than the stereotypes they depicted. While Fasha was genuine and delivered a performance with good timing, she was always angry and teary-eyed throughout the film, with a smattering of laughs and smiles here and there. Farid Kamil too did well, but seemed too good to be true, and at the other end of the spectrum, Aaron Aziz's character seemed too tough to be true. Still, such characters occur not only in local films but international ones with multi-million dollar budgets, so this is forgivable.

Syamsul himself, who plays Fasha's boyfriend Zack, was by comparison quite wooden, and his character just came across as a bloodthirsty bully who deserves no sympathy. Eye-candy Diana Danielle is gorgeous, but her acting leaves much to be desired. Playing Fasha's best friend, she is always serene and calm throughout the film no matter what is happening, like someone high on drugs.

The editing of the film is slightly choppy and in parts makes some scenes end awkwardly, and as usual, the dubbing isn't first-rate either - a problem that plagues Malaysian films endlessly. However, the sound quality is good for the most part, and better yet, the action scenes are positively brilliant. The choreography of the drifting is extremely good... in fact, a bit too good, because it ends up feeling like a stunt show and not an actual race on the roads of KL taking place. Everything is too coordinated and it loses the gritty realism that it tries to achieve, but then again, it is awesome to watch and certainly the drifting scenes are the best part of the movie.

Still, that is about all the movie has to offer at this point. There are no scantily clad, bodacious babes as it is a local production, so all we have to drool over are the cars, really. While there is a storyline going on about love triangles and rivalry, the audience really only cares about the cars and who wins the ultimate race. Any attempts at drama are half-baked and predictable, but one thing I have to give this movie props for is that there is no formulaic happy ending. We never truly find out what happens with the love triangle and a lot of questions are left unanswered, although this was possibly done to allow for a sequel to take over from there. Who knows? In the meantime, this is a film to be proud of, and hopefully Syamsul will keep on trying for bigger and better things.

Daily Box Office Analysis for June 23, 2008

This week begins with a whimper as Monday box office results reveal that last week was better. Despite two new debuts from high profile actors, top 10 box office had combined receipts of $17,716,720, down 14% from last Monday’s $20,586,002. There are two reasons for this. The first is that this week’s openers are not as strong as last week’s openers. And the second is that last week’s openers are dying faster than Dane Cook’s career.

Get Smart finished in first place for the fourth consecutive day and, barring something unforeseen, will keep this streak alive until it falls to third place on Friday. The Steve Carell comedy earned $5,119,453 yesterday, which is a total
representative of 85% of The Incredible Hulk’s business last Monday, $6,010,045. I say this as a point of reference for making the statement that Get Smart had a much better first weekday than Hulk. The explanation is that the spy spoof earned only 70% of the weekend box office of its comic book counterpart. Closing the gap this much percentage-wise is not wholly unexpected given Hulk’s now-proven lousy legs, but it’s one of only three true positives in yesterday’s top ten.

To my surprise, one of the other positives is The Love Guru, the Mike Myers comedy rejected by North America en masse. The film follows up on a dreadful $13.9 million opening weekend with $2,649,125. This may not sound like much, but it is representative of 19.1% of its initial three-day total. For comparison’s sake, Get Smart is at “only” 13.2% of its weekend number, a performance we have already described as good. Now, I want to stress that it’s a trick of box office mathematics for smaller films to have better hold-over in terms of percentage declines, as has been discussed on the site many times. A $40 million opener is not the same as a $100 million opener in this manner nor is it the same as a $14 million opener. There is a tiering system at work, but even allowing for this, a 19.1% holdover on Monday is strong for almost any title. I hate Myers as much as the rest of you do, but this is a positive after a week of negative press for him. Of course, it’s also far too little, far too late.

The final positive in the top ten is the impressive staying power of Kung Fu Panda. After falling only 34.2% in its second Monday last week, the title performs even stronger at the start of week three. A decline of only 27.2% gives it a running total of $158,861,401. It should be around $169 million by the weekend, meaning it has switched from a possibility to beat Madagascar to a strong likelihood. And, on a personal note, I highly recommend the movie to all of you, particularly the readers who are also parents.

In terms of last week’s openers, we chronicled their plight all of last week. The data points all added up to hefty weekend declines, and the prophecy was fulfilled when The Incredible Hulk fell a stiff 60% and The Happening fell off a cliff with a 66% drop. Both films continued their disappearing acts with Monday box office. Hulk dropped 56% to $2,649,125, mirroring its Ang Lee predecessor. That title fell 60% on its second Monday to $2.461 million. In terms of where both films were at after the same time frame, 11 days, The Hulk was at $103.1 million while The Incredible Hulk stands at $99,704,555. If we account for box office inflation, 2003 Hulk is 22% ahead of 2008 Hulk in terms of actual tickets sold.

Getting More Clicks For Your Adsense Ads

An interesting post by bloggeroftheweb.com dated 8th June. Seems like he can get 4 clicks with only 14 ad impressions in his Adsense ads by simply doing only one thing. He places a large 336 x 280 adsense box immediately under the post title in his blog. To prevent charges that he is going against Google Adsense T.O.S (“Ads
shouldn’t be placed under a title or section heading in a way that implies that the ads are not ads”) he colors the boxes a bright yellow. Thus, there is no way anybody can mistake this ad box for actual blog content. Also there is no way anybody can miss out this ad box on the way toward reading the content of the post, which is placed immediately beneath the box.

If Google allows this, this could represent another way to get more clicks on your ads. This should considerably help those bloggers who depend mostly on Adsense ads for income. To read the full article, click here.

Keyword Tip and tricks for bloggers

Keywords are the means by which your blog is indexed and placed in the search rankings. It pays to do keyword research on your subject and use these keywords at appropriate places in your blog.........

After deciding on the subject of your blog (if it is based on a single subject) you will have to do some research to find out the correct keywords for your blog. First to see the competition for your keywords enter your subject line in the Google search box and hit Enter. Google will turn up all the websites having that keyword and the number of sites will also be listed.
Look at the Page source of your competing sites for the keywords they use by going to View--->Page Source.
Remember the number for your site will have to climb through that number to reach the top of the rankings. If you are still undecided on the subject it would be better to choose a subject where the competition is less and your site will appear on the first page of the search results.

You can also see the number of blogs on the same subject by conducting a search at Technorati.com for your subject keywords.

The market for your subject can be seen by going to sites like wordtracker.com and overture.com. Enter your keyword in the box and hit Enter and you will see how many people have been searching for that keyword. Always choose a subject with a large enough demand yet not too much competition. I have blogged about this in some detail in How to start a Blog.

The Title metatag should contain five to ten keywords. It should be descriptive about your site. Avoid having a title like "Welcome to...my site". Total numbe of eighty to ninety characters.

The description metatag should contain around 160 to 250 characters including spaces. The description should be summarized. The keyword metatag should contain your keywords in order of importance.
Commonly misspelt words and plurals should be included in the keywors tag.
Do not stuff it with keywords and do not repeat keywords. Around 800 to 1000 characters (40 to 45 words) with spaces seems to be the optimum size. You can repeat the keywords but not one after another, not continuously in a row and less than four times.
Google and now Alta Vista are now ignoring the keyword tag.

Separate each keyword and keyword phrase with commas. You can generate metatags automatically online based on the keywords you provide. Just Google for the term "metatag generator" and go to any one site, type in your data and then copy and paste the metatags in your blog template just below the "head" tag.
Use those keywords which are repeated in the body text and the other tags.
The keywords in the metatags should match the body context.

Do not indulge in Keyword spamming or Keyword stuffing. Search engines are aware of these strategies. Keyword density is the percentage of words on a web page that match a specified set of keywords. In the context of search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase. There are a number of online keyword density analyzers where you can submit your page for an analysis. As before Google for them to analyze your keywords. An optimum figure happens to be about 500 to 800 words per page with a keyword density of 5-8%.

How To Start A Blog

First you will have to think of a subject to blog about.... Subjek sesuatu info adalah penting sebelum start berblogging
An ideal choice is to blog about something you are passionate about. Something about which you cannot stop talking. It may be politics it, may be spirituality. It must be something you know a lot about.

You can write about your hobby, or about your career. To attract readers you should choose a best selling topic like sex (orang Malaysia minat pasal ni), scandals, gossip, films, latest news. This topic should be something about which you can deliver content to your readers at daily/weekly/monthly intervals. Longer than that and your readers will lose intrest and move away. It is best to write about something you are doing daily. Then you will have something to write about at least once in three-four days.

If you are thinking about earning money from your blog then you have to consider the competition. Take a look at the competiton by going to www.google.com and typing your subject-line in the text box and hitting 'Search'. Google will search out all the websites with the same subject. See the number of sites which turn up in the results and consider whether you want to be a small fish in a big lake or by narrowing the search results you can turn into a big fish in a small pond. For example if you want to blog about your stamp-collecting hobby a quick search on Google shows more than four million websites on this subject. Looking for 'Olympic stamp collecting' turns up less than 250,000 websites and 'olympic stamp collecting greek' turns up some 90,000 sites. You will be much better off competing with 90,000 than with four million sites. This is the Age of Superspecialization and the more and more you know (about less and less) you will be appreciated by more and more people.

You have also to think about the demand for your subject if you want to monetize your site/blog. To research this head over to keyword research sites like http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ or www.wordtracker.com. The former is free while the latter offers a free trial. Type your subject line in the text box provided and press Enter to give you the number of searches conducted for that subject in the previous month. You can type in various subject-lines and compare the numbers.
A search for 'stamp-collecting' shows some 9,500 people have searched for it during the previous month while 'hiking' returns 45.000 searches. Hence it would be more lucrative to blog about hiking than stamp-collecting. If you want to monetize your blog it always helps to know the market. If you want to cater to a niche make sure that it is well populated otherwise you may die a quiet death due to lack of attention.

After choosing your subject you have to choose your blog host. If you are a novice it is best to start on a free host where you can try out your site and once you start attracting plenty visitors move over to paid hosting. Blogger.com is free and comes with plenty addons which makes it one of the ideal experimentation grounds for newbies. You can choose to stay on after turning pro as there are no time limits here. They have also introduced beta blogger with many improved functions ideal for a novice.

To summarize review the SUPPLY (sites turned up by Google Search) and the DEMAND (Number of searches for the topic in the last month)
As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand.
Josh Billings (1818 - 1885)
and your PASSION for the subject and decide whether to blog or blog not! In the Age of Globalization it should not proove too difficult to find your niche.
